- If the connection works "usually" there is almost certainly little
- if not nothing to be done on the cheap. If your phone company is
- anything like mine, no way in a thousand hells would they be concerned.

- My own experience is the opposite of yours: a setup that was always
- flakey has recently been quite stable. Same phone lines and
- computer hardware, software on my end, the provider is always changing
- modems here and there. Also the phone line could be getting
- better or it may be related to the load at the provider.

- (just got E-mail from operator/tech/? on the lab provider.
- "Nothing" changed at their end and he credits unknown phone
- line improvement. His own home->lab connection has worsened.
